Can anyone help me to get a simple white screen on my phone (Nokia 6102i) My vision is not quite what it used to be and all these images in the phone only prevent me from being able to read the information.
I have used Bluetooth to copy the file into my computer figuring that I could edit the file to being an all white image and to have it transferred back into the phone. However it is an NTF file and nothing I have seems to be able to open it.
I have tried to use the camera to photograph a white wall. It can be activated as wall paper but the quality of the camera image is so poor as it tries to white balance the image.
Also, the information blanks off the screen in 5 seconds, can the be changed? It is not the screen saver, something else is happening here.

You should be able to go to menu>settings>Main Display>wallpaper>then turn the wallpaper off. When I do this I have a white background.

Thanks for the response.
This does it only partially. When I finish a call, I get a short timed image that goes to white in about 5 seconds. When I open the phone and press MENU, I get blue sky and clouds. Both Wallpaper and Screensacer are off for both main display and mini display.
I am beginning to wonder if the phone is defective. It seems to change wall paper settings by itself. I have also noted that the ring tone seems to change. I know that I have not adjusted anything in TONES.

Did you ever get this resolved? If not, I think i can help. If you have bluetooth, try getting this theme into your phone and applying it. This should take care of all of your problems!

Yes, I was sent the "Basic.NTH" file and it seems to be working well.
NOw If I could only get the backlight to stop timing out so quickly. I hear that the timer is hardwired in though....

I posted this thread today....
I contacted Nokia regards my 6102i backlight. It goes out too quickly. Can you do anything to make it stay on longer? Their answer was....Nokia does not normally make phones with a backlight that stays on longer than 15 sec. (15 sec would be fine. My 6102i is more like 6 sec). What you have to do is press the Call key if in a menu mode or the Power key if in standby. Pressing power in a menu mode takes you out of menu. Pressing the Call key in standby brings up the recent called list. This apparently is the solution...a work around. I still think there out to be a way to program the light to stay on longer in the first place.

My backlight times out either in 6 seconds or 15 seconds, It is probably predictible but I have not figured it our yet. It is hardcoded in and cannot be changed.
It is interesting that they have these diesign problems but it is another issue to get them to admit to them. The so-called owners manual is an abomination in its lack of information or attempt to help us understand. The on-line information is actually a slap in the face since there they at least have the opportunity to make corrections but they don't.
