*67 bypass hack? Is this possible?

I was wondering if it was possible to hack my phone (V3c RAZR) in order to bypass the "private call" and actually show who's calling. For example, instead of showing "Private Call" it would show "*67 1-773-555-1234" or something of the sort.
Part of me thinks this is possible, but the other part is telling me that the *67 makes your call private on the network before it reaches your cellphone.
Technically speaking, this is a tweak for my phone, but if it's not cool to ask...
Then this topic never existed.
(And in case anybody is wondering, yes... somebody called me private and wasted 3 minutes of my time. I thought it would be fun to do the same back at them

well for cdma phones. I think the ESN gets sent to the network. So even though its private number the ESN (Every phone has a diferent ESN) is sent to the network to initiate the call. Same thing for GSM phones but with IMEI numbers. Now i dont know how the Carrier's Network work so ill stop here
