Following the steps in the link above, I had another question. This is a bit technical though. I wonder, for changing the l6 from tri to quad band, do we actually need to go through the steps for hexing the 0032_0001 seem? Or we can just leave that one alone? The reason wh I ask is I have a supplier that sells me these l6 phones and I sometimes ask them to change to quadband for me, and when I get the phones in and check out what they did, I see they changed the 0025_0001 one which is the easy one, but the 0032_0001 seem they didn't change at all. Sure enough, I tried just changing the 0025_0001 seem only and didn't do anything to the 0032 one and it changed to quadband. So I'm not sure if you know EXACTLY what happens when we change the 0032 seem when you change check the bit on bit 1. Maybe changing the 0025 bit is all you need?
I ask because the 0032 seem is sometimes different between phones and I have to do thousands of these phones and if I use a different 0032 seem for another phone, it might screw the phone up. But 0025 is always the same so I can just use the same exact 0025 hexed file over and over again between all phones I get in. Let me know if you can find anything out thanks!

I just saved the one from the first l6 i did and just like shampoo, I download, replace, repeat
. Havent heard of any problems yet, and by accident last week i used my v80 quad mod files and still worked like a charm. In the interest of doing right the first time though, why not just save the seems to your PC in phone specific files?
BTW, thousands? Literally? WOW

Yes. I also save the first one to file and use the exact same one over and over again. But the question is, do I need to follow the 2nd part which is to hex the 0032_001.seem file:
1. Stay in the XVI32 software. Click on ‘File’ and ‘Open’.
2. Browse to the folder you saved the seems and open the 0032_0001.seem.
3. There will be a lot more information in this file.
4. Click on the boxes until you see ‘Adr. Hex: 50’ in the status bar at the bottom.
5. Once you find it, click on ‘Tools’ menu and ‘Bit Manipulation.
6. Put a check in the box for Bit 0. This enables 850 MHz.
7. Press ‘Set’.
8. Click on the ‘File’ menu and click ‘Save’.
9. You can close the XVI32 software now.
Do I actually need to follow the above steps? Or do I just need to follow the steps for the first file only (0025_001.seem)?
