If i pick up a nokia 1600 prepaid in Germany, do they come unlocked, from what i can remeber t-mobile does not lock their phones but i wanted to double check, so i can get a prepaid sim in italy to put in it. Thanks

Actually all prepaid phones sold directly by a provider or a chain like Saturn/Mediamarkt/ProMarkt will have a SIM lock on it so you won't be able to put in a TIM, Vodafone or WIND SIM. You need to try for a SIM-free model.....the chains mentioned before normally carry such handsets, I just don't know if the 1600 is one of them.

I'll have a look at my local Saturn tomorrow and let you know.
