I Need some advice:

Is there a way to delete on the handheld but not in Outlook

Does anyone know if the WiFi can handle 128 bit WEP encryption

Thanks

Cnet

1. Do you want to stop syncing changes all together? You can't delete an item on one and then not expect it to sync the item again the next time if you still have that type of item set to sync.

Yes, 128 bit WEP should work fine, just remember the 6700 only has a 802.11b receiver so you need your access point to be in 'B' or "MIXED" mode.

Thanks

When entering the WEP, do we use the paraphrase or the Hex code.

you have to enter the full code.. The pass phrase is something made up by router makers to take a users poor password and make it into a longer hash.

And no you can't copy and paste, you need to key it in carefully.

Thanks again

The operations manual is really bad - more of an essay.

I noticed that the 6700 searches for all networks close by and connects to one that is not encrypted. What would be the sequence of keystrokes to get to the point where I can enter the WEP key. My SSID broadcast is turned off and WEP enabled.

Turn your SSID on to start with so that your phone can see the network. Click the small wifi icon at the top of the menu bar. A window should appear asking you if you want to turn wifi on or off. Make sure wifi is on. If your phone automatically sees your network a window will appear asking you if you want to connect. If it does not see it, click the "settings" link that you see when you click the wifi icon. A new window should appear with a list of wireless networks. Choose your wireless network. A new window appears that allows you to specify settings for the network you selected. There is a tab called "network key". You can enter your wep key there. Now go back into your router and turn your SSID off. Your phone should locate the network whenever you are in range.
