Can't decide between these two phones, only real choices because I want to get VZ Navigator. Reception and clarity are most important.

Two polarizing choices, I'd recommend getting in to the store, and trying both. I hate the RAZR, and love the A930, but you'll find plenty of people who say the opposite.

I love my a930 for the reception as well as looks and features. it does great in fringe areas
and the navigator is AWESOME

..the chocolate, it also has the VZ Navigator. I wanted to get that phone, but it was out of stock, and I needed a phone immediately so I went with the V3m. I will be getting the Chocolate as soon as it is available however. I don't know much about the A930, I have been skeptical of Samsungs ever since my A670 (what a piece of crap).

hey all
PROS: extreme reception. i have had both the RAZR v3 and the a930 (verizon models). the main difference is that in EVERY phone ive ever owned in the past 3 years, id lose signal on the elevator. i can talk on the elevator and havent dropped a call in 2 months, which is astounding to me. and i use to drop calls driving close to Dulles Airport. i drive through Southwestern VA frequently and always have a signal on all parts of Rte. 81. thats incredible.
design: the other thing about the a930 is its peculiar design. it really IS a good functional mp3 player and the design just suits that part of its functuionality so well. the Verizon interface is pretty good and doesnt seem as clunky on the a930 as it did on the RAZR. it's all black, very ergonomic for one hand texting and navigating, fits in your jeans, and it's made out of ABS or similar resin, so you can get away with dropping it now and then. its either the hippest looking phone youve ever seen, or its the ugliest. sort of like a Honda Element--its so ugly, yet SO functional, how can you not like it?!?!
Features: oh yeah, one other thing: it has a unique 'Vibetonz' setting that renders the phone with a more pronounced vibrate in that setting. and the vibration thing works on games, too. if you hold the phone in your hand and tap it with a finger, it vibrates as if it was full of jello. weird.
CONS: i hate having to pay for the $30 Music packet just to get it set up to play music. and yes, the Verizon interface is something us Verizon customers will have to live with, like it or not.
its the best phone ive ever owned. hacks are out there for it and it will last a long time.
