i'm having trouble figuring out how to wire this thing up...

i have this speaker wire:

manual says one end should go here but the tips of the speaker wire are too short:

manual says other end should go here but i have no way to put it in since both ends of the speaker wire is just has a bit of wiring sticking out (as seen in first pic)

and help on how to wire it up?

For the too short thing, you gotta strip the plastic off of the speaker wire than just like twist it and fit in there

hm... the speaker wire, it has 2 colours. i think 2 diff materials... which goes into which hole? and also, when you say twist it and fit it in... do you mean twist both together or...?

You strip back the rubber material, twist the copper wiring making it into a straight line, insert the now twisted wire into the back of the receiver, and screw the clamp onto it. The different colors are for polarity. Make sure the same color running out of your NEGAITVE runs into the NEGATIVE on your speakers, same for positive.

i'm still stuck on how to connect it to the back of the reciever... the speaker i just twist it, and it goes in... but how about the reciever? it's a big hole... and i don't have anything to keep it in place?

You need too unscrew the cap on the receiver and slip the wire from the side not the back

The red and black caps on the back of teh receiver are called binding posts. If you unscrew them, you will see a hole on the centre post that they screw onto, place the end of the wire through the hole and tighten the plastic cap down. Make sure that you have the wire stripped back enough that there is none of the insulation getting in the way of the plastic cap holding the wire to the metal post (you could also go to The Source or Radio Shack and buy banana plugs which might be easier for you to set up). Judging by the picture, you have enough wire exposed for attaching to the speakers. The spring terminals used on the speakers only need 1/4" of bare wire. When you press down on the black or red plastic terminals you should see the little metal clamp move to the side, opening the terminal. Place the wire in the hole without any insulation going into the hole and release the terminal. The metal clamp will press and hold the wire in place.
