It's out. Has anyone tried it yet?
I'm going on vacation in 2 days so I'd rather not mess with my phone in case things get screwed up.
Pls post your experience.

thx

No but you can simply use another GSM carriers handheld software. My wife is running TMo 4.1.0.309 I think it is on her Robbers 7290 with no issue.

installed and have been using it just fine for the last two days. themes work great on it. a little faster with apps such as google maps. all the new options that are listed in the various 4.1 change threads appear to have made it to rogers.

a nice overall upgrade.

i did the backup-upgrade-restore and it worked just great.

cheers.

ryan.

Does 4.1 , for 7290, allow address book transfer to BT handfree devices (in cars) ?
That's the feature that I'm waiting for. v4.1 for 8700 has this function. so I'm hoping 4.1 for 7290 will have same.

There should be an extra option "allow address book transfer" under the Bluetooth menu.

Posted by: disinvent

Yes. That option has been added to the bt menu on here. You shoul be good to go.

According to the Downloads thread at http://www.blackberryforums.com, you can go here - https://www.blackberry.com/Download...DC068A355BBA31A - and select the 7290 to download 4.1.0.379 from Rogers.

i think they removed the 7290 option because i see everything BUT 7290. =(

Go to www.rogers.com/techsupport

...pick the appropriate manufacturer and model and you'll see the 4.1 handheld software there.

well, I've upgraded and it looks like everything is working but BT address book transfer.
I've selected "All Entries" in the Address Book Transfer option in BT but still no good. I'm trying to pair with a BMW BT and a Sony Ericsson HCB-700, the pairing and voice call still works as before but the address book does not get transferred. I've used my old Sony T616 and the address book gets transferred quite quickly.

Any ideas? I have about 200+ entries in my Address Book. could that be the problem? But the HCB-700 says, phone book not supported.

yeah, i'm trying to transfer my address book onto my moto v195. the option is there to transfer. my bb recognizes the moto, but i'm not even sure if it is paired. it shows up on the device list. but even still, i don't know how to transfer it. any help would be appreciated.

The BlackBerry is built on security and BT is limited to headset communication, some BT keyboards and BT desktop manager sync.

that sucks. thanks for the info

check BMW's website to see if they have a device compatibility matrix. i tried pairing to the Lexus BT system and it wasn't possible to transfer address books entries over. after checking the Lexus website it listed it as a incompatible feature between the BB and the car.
