I would be VERY suspect of what that rep told you. |

(concord mills area) and we get signal from the tower that my reseller provides and our 3g market won't be up till a projected date of march 07.... so i'll probably have a 3g signal on my phone for about 20 minutes of my 30 minute ride

Maybe the rep ment that they will recieve the phone tomorrow, which sounds reasonable. ST Louis HAS been pushed back til the 12-13th of sept. |

I am personally talking to the contractors installing the 3g hardware and they told me Monday that Cingular is behind the 8ball in the Carolinas for 3g. He further told me that he has gotten some test equipment for 4g service from a certain cdma carrier(Sprint). By the time Cingular gets rolled out to most major markets Sprint and VZW will have 4g rolling out lol. |
that's no different than HSDPA 3.2 (which should only require upgrade at the handset level - similar to EDGE class 6 vs. EDGE class 10).| Well now Cingular and TM are the only carriers without 3G here in Birmingham |
T-Mo, Cingular and Nextel are the carriers w/o 3G here as well.
As for US Cellular, who knows lol
If you come up to NorCal, SouOre, SE Idaho or W WY, it'll count for you too

I go by them a lot on Hwy.20 on our trips from Redwood Valley over to valley and other areas.

Though 5 is much nicer to drive up here than south of Sac, people generally drive nicer and more in line with the speed limit, except for the Bay Area and Oregon drivers (can you say tailgaters, rude drivers and impatient
) lol

Well just see if they leave it on or not.. They have been taking different areas up and down. But today was the first day I could drive across town and not loose 3G signal.

Believe it or not, -105dBm on GSM 1900 (assumed AMR-full rate) works better than -95dBm on GSM 850 (assumed AMR-half rate).

Now read this map and learn young man, learn
I've been to every corner of the state, literally. With a lot of family from Southeast Idaho, I've travelled pretty extensively there too, in fact, I've been coast to coast and from the Canadian border to the Mexican border by Amtrak train (no, planes don't count, you have to go through the nation to see it, not go over it
), and by car and train in a lot of the west.
j/k lol
Amtrak California has an EXCELLENT system (in fact, the 2nd busiest outside of the Northeast Corridor), a great way to get to almost anywhere in the state, via train and connecting Amtrak Shuttles. Besides, it's nice to have someone else do the driving for a while
