I am new here and I am sure this question has been asked a thousand times but scrolling through all of these posts is a monumental task even with search. I ordered a USB cable for my V557 but cannot figure out what to install to get it to get pictures from my phone to my PC. I greatly appreciate your help.

for that you need mobile phone tools a program created by motorola. should be very easy to find on ebay

Phone Tools isn't necessary for this... If the PC has a Bluetooth "information exchanger", that's all you need. On your phone, turn Bluetooth on. Then, find the picture you want to send, hit Menu, Copy, Search. Locate your other Bluetooth device (you may have to put your PC is Discovery mode), select it. If you get prompted for PIN number, enter any 4 digit PIN, then when you get prompted on the other device, enter the same PIN. You should be able to transfer that way. Bluetooth on this v557 seems very spotty though. I can't get it to work with my 2 Bluetooth-enabled Dell laptops half the time. But I did get this exact process of picture Copy working once.
