I'm lookking to get an old SK2 unlocked on T-Mobile so that I can sale it. I was told by T-Mobile that they don't unlock these phones. Is there anything that I can do.

no even if you unlock it the other carriers cant use the data

The reason why you can't really do too much about it is because the "unlock" code is tied to the IMEI on the device (at least, according to hiptop.com)

The IMEI is "carrier specific", as well, and with T-Mope not giving it out, the chances are slim to non in terms of finding any other alternative.

we can unlock the sidekick fine... -- but only thing you can use it for is voice -- the danger server won't reccognize your SK2 (or 3) at all once another carriers sim is in it.

Sorry

Even if you do get it unlocked, you can only use it for T-mobile anyway. The only other carrier that can use it is Cingular and they will be limited to voice only.

Besides, having a phone locked or unlocked makes very little difference when you sell it on Ebay.

When I bought my Blackberry 7290, I noticed on Ebay, the final sold price for locked and unlocked phones are very similar.

Besides, considering how popular Sidekick is, you will get a good price for it. Even Sidekicks that is not in a good shape.

Just make sure you have all the accessories and manuals for it.

The reason is, if you only have the phone and nothing else, people may think you found the phone or it is stolen. Than you will have less people bidding on it.
