Hello to all. I'm new, of course, and I would like to say that I really love the way help is so available and everybody is so willing to help. I just came across Diego and would like any advise you might have about using it. In regards to what I should and shouldn't do. The first thing I will do is allow all file types for ring tones.

Is there anything else I can do with it. i.e. remove carrier banner? I love complete customization... Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, welcome to HoFo. But first, please understand that:

Progamming Service Tools like Diego and Phoenix is Nokia's proprietary properties. They are NOT meant for end-users at large. They are also proctected by non-disclosure agreement and unauthorized use by any mean (*cough* cracked files) may leads to legal implications. So the more we talk about it, the more Nokia will know! Then it may bring HoFo legal troubles!

Different models but the items are similar. Carrier banner (Alpha tag) in Nokia CDMA can be changed without Diego. It is in the NAM programming menu ( *3001#12345# ).

If you would like to delete this post I can word it differently. As far as the NAM programming menu... I'm into computers but as far as cell phones go I'm an utter noob. If you could please elaborate. Thanks again.

No problem, just keep a low profile.

NAM programming menu is for program your phone with the corresponding account information like phone number, SID / NID. In there, an item called Alpha Tag. By default, carriers put their names in it. But, you can change to whatever you want. However, when you're roaming, it may be override as "roaming" on the screen. Please note, if you want to change something directly on the phone i.e. not using Diego, you maybe prompted for SPC. Use "your version" of Diego to locate the SPC with the Find feature.

Thanks a lot. The phone looks a lot better without the USCC banner.
