How do I turn off the loss of service alert?

Does anyone know if there's a way to turn off the loss of service alert on the 8915/Snapper? I can't seem to find it anywhere. Also not specifically to do with this phone, but if you hook the phone up to your computer does the phone need to be active in order for you to be able to retrieve anything off of it? email me any help at emz322@rochester.rr.com or leave it here
