Right... I don't want to sound rude...but ...that'll probably be in the little book that you get with the phone called the instruction manual....
But...just to save you bothering to read it... go into the menu, then select settings, scroll to "NETWORK" and...Bobs the proverbial....the settings there are the only ones available on the V635...

im trying to set up Google maps on the phone

Losing the manual is no excuse. Ever try Google? It's available out there in PDF format.

And if you read my other thread, you'll find that there's some hacking required to get GMM (Google Maps for Mobile) to work on the V635...

There is hacking required?

ugh...I could be unique, but I ran the Generic version with no issues. Loads, and...it works.

That or you have your phone model set to a V551 (or similar) or they actually fixed it, but it seems that folks over on Google Groups have been complaining about the V635's keys not working right to the point that they couldn't even accept the terms when GMM ran the first time.

I see you're on Cingular - in order to get the new MEdia Net on a V635 one has to set their phone model to V551 or other acceptable phone, I on the other hand chose V620, which of course doesn't work with GMM...
