Bain Aid stopped working?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Well, I'm missing calls again. Anyone else?

It seems to me that when the band aid was working, Stay Connected would always show "Disconnected" (with a red X). I thought that this made sense, since that would continually prompt the program to try to connect -- thus keeping the phone awake.

Could be a coincidence, but now that I've noticed missed calls, Stay Connected is always showing "Connected".

Also -- what is it connected *to*?

Spend the $28 and get the phone CID Unlocked; I did it, put in the iMate ROM and all is well. Trust me, worth the money.

Plus, now you can put whatever ROM on the phone you want - including whatever Cingular ends up shipping with the unit once the release it.

Thanks. I will. Once unlocked, where is the new ROM and what's the procedure for flashing the phone?

StayConnected is still working for me.

Aren't you concerned that changing the ROM voids your warranty? I am a little nervous about doing this because there is no Qtek rom to put back on if I need to have it serviced.

Nope..I have the Qtek ROM I can put back on if I need to..Plus - HTC is working on a new ROM that will be 'authorized' to replace.

I guess it depends on your perspective.

Where did you get a Qtek ROM? I did not think anyone had it.

Me Bad - I have the S300 and iMate ROMs; sorry.

me 2, not sure why you're having probs with it.

Stay Connected never worked for me.....

Posted by: chawks2

did you configure it properly? Do you have a data plan?

Posted by: N7TND

Yep...Followed the instructions listed on the Forum and I have a MEdia Net unlimited plan. I really prefer the unlock method anyway. It only cost another $20 over the 'band-aid' and now I'm free to put whatever ROM I wish on the phone.

This thread has been dead for a bit, but I just wanted to share with everyone; the "pinging" slipstream is doing, DOES in fact incurr data fees.

I'm attempting to increase the timeout via the registry to see if I can lessen the blow on my bill, will let you guys know..
