Battery life for the LG Cu500?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Is anyone else having trouble with their battery life for their phones? I hardly used mine today and it is showing just one bar. I made three phone calls and thats it. I unplugged it at 11am and just plugged it in at 12am about twelve hours. Any input from anyone else who has the phone will be appreciated.

Mines good. I had 3 bars left tonight with moderate use.

My wife has the same phone and hers is dead too. Man I knew a good LG was too good to be true. I love the phone other than that.

That Cing. 3125 is looking mighty good right about now, I had the phone about the last three days, I have 27 to go so we will see what happens.

Does anyone know if you can exchange the phone for another even though it costs more? Can you just pay the difference? The HTC startrek is just around the corner.

Also what stipulations if any to return a phone within the 30 day period.

give it a couple full battery cycles and charges

The phone needs the battery to be discharged - recharged a few times to be conditioned. Also keep in mind, that most 3G phones have a shorter battery life compaired to non-3G phones. I have been suprised to find that even though this phones battery life isn't like some on my older non-3G Nokia's, it is longer than my Samsung A-940 (but not my much). I know I could turn off Bluetooth, WCDMA, and many of the automatic features to really increase battery life, but then it woldn't be 3G My E61's battery really goes down fast when I turn on Bluetooth and WiFi, again I could turn off most of the features, but then it would just be a phone My point is you can't expect a 3G phone to last as long utilizing the same battery technology as previous phones used. There hasn't been much advancement in battery technology in perhaps a decade, but phones have grown in features many times over resulting in kewl phones with short battery life.

Mine sucks too, I hope it gets better as I kill it and recharge it overnight, but I have been using 90-100% of the battery every day for 4 days and charging it overnight, and it doesnt seem to be getting any better.

I had the samsung zx10 just before this phone and it was a 3g phone with no battery issues whatsoever. Maybe HSDPA uses more power.

When Verizon introduced its 3G service, people complained about the battery life of the 3G phones, almost 6 -9 months go by, and Sprint intorduced its 'power vision' 3G service, and again, people were complaining over and over about the battery life of the 3G phones. Now Cingular is introducing 3G service, and its no suprise that battery life is becoming an issue. The problem as I see it, people want small and thin phones with every feature you can think of TV, radio, broadband, bluetooth, Irda, push email, GPS,larger higher resolution screens, voice recognition, voice dialing , and on and on, and they want a battery the size of a post-it to power it all

This is good advice, or at least fits with my observations. Battery life the first full charge sucked, especially using Bluetooth. The second full charge was better. After the third full charge I got two days of use with calls and texting. This is what I expected. I do recommend picking up a car charger for the LG. If an extended battery is offered, I may pick one of those up, as well.

I used five different phones in a one-week period. Battery life doesn't concern me too much. I've always got a phone charged up and ready to go. Heh.

some opinion
1:battery
In every 3G /2G multimode phone ,Normally 3G upto talk time almost 2/3 of normal GSM upto. the time is depend on the air signal strength.
I think that is a reason that Cu500 increase battery capacity from 900 to 1100.if they choose 900mA ,they could have made the phone slimmer.
I feel the time is not so bad.
There are many advence in technology what we have to got. the phone is quadband GSM(EDGE) and dual band HSDPA 3G and stereo bluetooth and etc..

2.
someone said there is no backgound noise what GSM has,the silence feel strange.
I like this and feel better.

3.hinge
some of my old phone was broken by pressing on the back side.this hinge just go to flat like spring and back to normal position.
I like this hinge .

It is time to quit old technology .

so what ur tellin me is the hinge issue every1 is talkin about is actually normal n they made it like that. If so y do some people say in these forums that their hinge is tight.

The hinge on the LG cu500 should be tight; it's not normal for the hinge to be loose.

Powercycling is the best advice to give someone with a new phone if they want to maixmize their battery longevity and strength.
