Help, Alltel e815 not booting correctly.

Yesterday, I was listening to axcess radio (I shouldn't have bought it anyway, it sucks) and my battery was kinda hot, and all of a sudden it stopped. My phone turned off and I had to take out the battery for it to boot again, when it booted, I got the message "bootloader usb init". I have searched and I have tried almost everything, does anyone have anymore ideas on what I could do? I got this phone off of ebay, will alltel still reflash it for me? I don't want to drop 230 on a new phone particularly, but I need a phone, and the next time I will be able to get to an alltel store is on tuesday (its a 50 mile drive) so is there anything I can do to salvage it?

By the way, I havn't done any modding to it, just used bluetooth to put stuff on it

I'd remove the battery for a few hours - other than that, I'm not sure if there's anything else to be done.

Though I'd be aprehensive about using a phone after that occured anyway.

My daughter gave me her E815 the other day with the "bootloader usb init". screen on it. No way to get out of it. Have to pull the batt. to turn off.
Goes back to that screen upon insertion. I can sucessfully flash the phone with RSD Lite, or at least it lists as successful, However, neither RSD or MSU can read the ESN, MEID #'s.

"bootloader usb init" usually means the phone is toast.

I saw a friend resurrect one by pulling the battery, letting it sit for an hour or so, then spanking the phone. He turned it over and gently tapped it where the battery usually sits, then put the battery back in and it came up ok.

Your mileage may vary. This guy has the magic touch with electronics, and a very odd outlook on life in general. It may only work if you're a few digits short of a phone number.

bootloader usually means something is shorting out, generally your charger port. You can try flashing the phone, or simply cleaning out the charger post with 90% alcohol. If not, Motorola or Alltel should replace it for you.
