Is there anyway to play full mp3's on my alltel flashed verizon V3C? I know about how to edit mp3's to make them ringtones and how to add them to my phone. When I go to the sound under media gallery, and i try to play a full song and the song stopped after about a minute. this happened for the couple songs i first tried on my phone so from then on ive been trimming my mp3's so that my ringtones only last about a minute. It would be so cool if I could play entire songs on my speakers on my phone. anyone experiencing the same problem?

that's odd. i am able to play full length mp3s and even make playlists.

i don't know if this will help but i compress my mp3s to:
32 kbps (64 kbps/ half for mono)
22.050 kHz
mono

i only listen to music through the phone speaker so i don't need stereo or the high kbps quality because it won't make that much difference through the speaker.
these settings imho are great for the v3c. a 5 minute song is only 1.1MB

as has been seen with MP3's on the V710 and E815... The phone likes Constant BitRate (CBR) Mpeg 1.0/Layer 3 files... anything else can cause un-predictable results... (play the files in Winamp and do a "File Info" from the menu to check the details)...

Suggetions for encoding settings....

For Ring Tones I use 48kbit/44khz/Mono and 64kbit/44khz/mono Constant BitRate..

For SONGS stored on my transflash card... I use 64kbit/44khz/stereo Constant BitRate... For a 3:37 song, the file is 1690kbytes... With my E815 I use a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter so I can use my sony stereo earbuds and listen to my play lists as I walk between buildings and it doesn't sound too bad... Sometimes I just yank the buds and leave the phone playing music when I get to the desk of the person I am going to visit... 22 songs, plays for under 2hrs, without stopping...

Thanks guys, after checking on this thread i thought i was hopeless. but now that i think about it your right. I attempted to just drag and drop my fairly large like 200 kbps ish vbr mp3 into my phone and i was wondering why it wasnt playing lol. I'll try using smaller, constant bitrate mp3s now and see if it works. and only 64 kbps? that seems very small/ bad sound quality but i havent tried it. i wanna be able to whip out my phone and play tunes for my friends off the not-so-loud speakers, its just a cool feature. thanks for the suggestions and ill see if it can play full length songs. Btw mark_venture awesome job with the website you keep up. its really helpful.

thanks alot again. i tried again using smaller files and of course it worked. i realized that p2k commander freezes and disconnects my phone whenever the file is too big in the middle of transferring the file. so thats why my music was cut off. makes sense
