Some keys not working on my RAZR

Hello all.

3 or 4 keys on my keypad are not working properly. I have to press them really hard, and sometimes they are pressed twice. Its a pain especially when SMSing.

Its mostly because of dirt I think because I was in a city for a few months near a construction site, and would talk alot standing near the site. My razr black razr would turn white because of all the dust.

So how do i clean the keypad?? so that all the keys work ?

thank you all....

If you need a guide to dissassemble your RAZR, try this:

http://www.lovehopefaith.com/V3.files/V3-repair.pdf

You will need a T5 for the face plate and T6 screwdriver for the body.

A plastic cellphone pry tool is highly recommended to pry the case apart w/o damaging it.

There's also a T3 screw but you would only need that if you are taking the hinges out.

It most likely just needs a good cleaning.

If you do need a new keypad or flex cable cnn.cn is a good place to get the parts.

The keypad is a relatively easy part to change just be careful when bending the metal tabs, while the flex pad is one of the most difficult parts because it would require an almost complete dissasembly of the phone.

I'm going from memory here so bear with me:

That should be it. Once the keypad is off you can clean off the dust and dirt and whatever. Follow the directions in reverse to put it all back together.
