RAZR V3c makes calls, receives intermittently?

WTF? Has anyone encountered this? My wife can make calls from her phone, but I can only call her about 33% of the time; the other times I got a fast busy signal, like I was calling a disconnected number. Also, during the call I always here a random "clicking" sound, and my wife can't hear a thing.
Another thing: the clicking noises start before she even answers the phone.
