Need help choosing verizon or Cingular.

I more than likely could still get service with either one of them. Honestly I know nothing about cingular or verizon except that they are better than alltel correct? My contract with nextel is up in october and I'm up for a new phone, and service provider. My question is, are cingular and verizon going to be getting new phones before Oct or in Oct? Also, would anyone know how much a security deposit may range from? I've heard 150-450, but no clue on how truthful that is.

Oh I forgot to mention, where I live we have alltel, and sprint, as well as nextel and Centinetal(sp?) So my choices aren't very good ones in my opinion. Alltel isn't that bad but their phone selection is not that great. Which is why I made this thread asking bout verizon or cingular.

I would recommend looking into Sprint as well as Cingular and Verizon.
