I have just purchased a V3i, non Itunes, and am not very satisfied with the internal phone book. The phone was purchased because it is capable of holding a large number of contacts. I have 14 offices and each has several phone numbers ie... phone, fax, mobile, pager, email etal. What I was expecting was that each office location would be a single entry containing all of the pertinent phone numbers. What I am getting is one entry per phone number ie...
Office 1
Phone
Office 1
Fax
and on and on.

I have tried flashing and flexing the phone but the phonebook remains the same. Any thoughts on this

Hi, I have a solution to this although it may seem curious. I have several offices and several numbers for each as well. e.g.
Fullerton, CA XXX-555-1212 # (FAX)
Fullerton, CA XXX-555-1213 * (eMail)
Fullerton, CA XXX-555-1233 [] (Main)
Fullerton, CA XXX-555-1242 // (Home)

ALL names must be identical. The method for grouping them is as follows:
MENU > Phonebook > MENU > Setup > View: Primary Contacts

Fullerton, CA becomes the Primary Contact and all numbers with the same name are now grouped under that name.

To set the number that will first show up when Fullerton, CA is selected, go to:
Phonebook > Fullerton, CA > MENU > Set Primary
You will now see all numbers related to Fullerton, CA. Choose an entry e.g. []

The next time you scroll to Fullerton, CA you will see []. Press send and you get the main office line.

If you want a different number in that office, when you cursor to Fullerton, CA press VIEW instead and you can scroll through the numbers and press SEND when the correct ICON appears… I hope this helps.
