first of all, when i try to change the mpt modem from e815 to e815m it freezes mpt. second, when i try and use bitpim it connects, but when i try to do anything it says "the phone is not responding while manipulating the filesystem." when i use p2k seem the program stops responding. in p2k seem i loaded a seem that i downloaded and saved it to my phone, but when i clicked restart phone p2k would freeze. also when i tried to save the seems before they are edited p2k freezes.

i have installed all the drivers and my phone connects fine.

i have also tried different ways of connecting my phone ie: suspend mode, normal, bootloader mode.

please help. tia.

Make sure you are using the correct p2kseem program, and have PST or MSU running first - follow the Seem Edit guides on Mark V's pages (and download the p2kseem program from Mark's pages too - it is called p2kseem4v710): http://mark.cdmaforums.com

And for MPT and BitPim - make sure NOTHING else is running (nothing that would make a connection to your phone). And don't run MPT and BitPim together either, of course.

thanks for the help. i think i got the seem edits working. i havent tried mpt or botpim yet.

actually, i opened pst and p2k and i loaded a seem from a file. then i saved to phone and restarted the phone. it seems like the seems did not save to the phone because after i restarted the phone it was the same.

by the way, does the phone need to be in suspend mode? i was working before, but after i tried to load the seems to the phone, now when i try to go to suspend mode, it says connection failed.

Follow Mark's Seem Edit pages.

What seem are you editing? Load it from the phone and see if the edits are there or not.
Are you trying to edit seem 2742? Did you put 2742 in the seem box? Did you put the correct number of bytes in the bytes box?

Use PST. Start/open PST, then when it is open and you hear the connection beeps, open p2kseem4v710.
.... again, this is all on Mark's pages - read them and follow them. They work - honest.

EDIT: btw, I've never used the suspend method - I've read that it is not very reliable.

thank you very much for the help. i got it now. i was using something i downloaded with all the seem edits done. that did not work but i just did the edits i wanted myself and it worked.
