Does that method work? I have a V325 with the Verizon UI which is slow and I got a new phone because of it. I like the way the phone looks and I like the battery life...If that method works, anyone with a V323 want to send me their firmware so I can upload to my phone? |

If this was as easy as this thread made it out to seem this information would been posted a long time ago. And some of us wouldn't have 'wasted' so much time.
The fact of the matter is we already have abilities to copy the firmware of both the E815 and V3c. That is truth. Both I and Scottgl worked hard on coming up with these techniques so we can get this done right and people don't have to play with ideas, techniques, and software that hasn't been fully tested and has the potential to hose your phone. If you have been following our threads you would know That scottgl and I know the format of the .shx file and that scottgl is composing a program to write our dumps back into .shx format so people we can easily make backups and flash their phones. All you have to do is be a little patient and all will be well. Anyways back to this method, One thing I did notice as the dump isn't dumping the correct addresses the bootloader and firmware start at 00000000 on the E815 and V3c. THiS has been proven we have a log the Bradw posted when he flashed his E815 that proves this. Others have also. Not to mention the fact that we have downloaded the firmware from these addresses that match byte for byte with the realeased ones. Another thing is that these phones memory are protected this has also been posted on how to unlock the phones memory which has to be done with a combination of PST and ramldr. You can not unlock the memory by just booting into the Bootloader unless you use my method which consists of more than that. Third. I changed the memory addresses to the correct addresses in flashbackup and unlocked the phones memory and made a back up in flashbackup and the files between this method and the originally posted method match exactly. So obvious something is awry. Bottomline is that what you are doing will lead to nowhere and things you want can not be done without extensive hacking. Like the hacking that has been done by Scottgl and I. But obviously that is beyond the scope of the individuals who have posted this guide. Otherwise this guide wouldn't exist. Peace -Su |
