HI!

Anyone knows if i can use my palmpilot to handle the phonebook and sms etc. of the s40?? Gsmtool does not work as of now

You can beam address book entries to and from the S40 and a Palm and all the formatting will be kept (a really really nice feature). As for SMS I haven't gotten around to testing that yet.

howard, wasn't that feature part of the s40 b4 version 3.2 ?? .. i remember hearing about it [from u, in fact]

I have a S40 with firmware version 2.10. I can beam the address entry from my Palm Vx to the S40 and I can beam the phone back to my Palm. It works great until I tried to sync the S40 with Outlook 2000 with my notebook computer. Now, the phone hangs when I try to access the address book or plain number phone book.

have you ever tried sending a sms msg from the S40 phone via IRda to your palm pilot?
I tried, and it says in my Palm Pilot.." Data receive in unknown format"

maybe there's a gsm upgarde for the palm pilot..
lt me know if u found anything...

What version is your S40's firmware? press *#06# and then press the down button on the side of the phone. Also what kind of Palm do you have?

My software version was updated in singapore siemens about a month ago.
and I asked them about the latest one.. they said it's 2.1 in Singapore.
I asked them about the .3.2.1 upgrade, and they told me that it's only for foreign countries. ( I suppose its outside of singapore) and they told me that the software 2.1 is the equivalent of 3.2.1
I don't buy it though , although my phone has no problems and glitches..

My palm, i use a TRGpro. with software 3.5.2 OS.

I can send phone numbers to and from my phone.
i can send msgs from my palm to the phone, and it's saved as drafts and u can send them later.

BUt i can't send any sms that i received from my frens to the palm

I tried GSM tool and it CANNOT sync, backup, dial and all those goodies that the rest of the phones can do..
My brother has a Timeport and it sync seamlessly with the gsmtools..
not with mine s40..*sigh*
beginning to wonder if the s40 is actuallya good phone...

but i know s40 phone is the ONLY tri-band phone that can receive your msgs that are typed in your palm via IrDa. and you can then send them sms..
very good for people like me who's msgs are pften in Indonesian, as T9 doesn't support Indonesian language.
