I'm currently a sprint customer. Im getting out of my contract and REALLY want to get a SK3, however, Im also kindof debating on getting the verizon Q. What I really want out of a phone is #1) use of a phone (talk capabilities), #2) internet capabilities, #3) email (want to view my yahoo account. I am 29 years old and feel that I may be too old for a SK3, but I really dont need a phone for spreadsheets and syncing, and business stuff. Please Help!!! Thanks, new to the board and appreciate any feedback!

Get the SK3 if you chat alot. Verizon doesn't allow unlimited texts/IMs.

i would say go for teh moto Q... for basic phone email and web..... u might not have the patience with the sk3 since u hve to open, close, open ,close the screen. but hey i could be wrong. i almost got the moto Q but im only 18 and it seems to professional to me.

ok my man I can help you here...the Q sucks ***!!! no nothing more nothing less. I am with Verizon and t-mobile and I have had three Q's and they all froze and locked up on me. I have the sk3 and I love it...as far as texting and email and yahoo this is what you need. the Q is too bulky

The Q is asthetically nice....It's thin and lighter then expected. The only thing is this thing is a b**ch to use!!! It is a lot harder to get set up then the treo 650. Getting your email configured on pop3 or IMAP4 is a huge pain in the ***....and if you dont have the patience to work with the device and get things set up then your going to hate it.

The sidekick is very easy to use and everything is basically right there. I had no problems setting up my email accounts and sending and receiving emails. The Q was a nightmare...just when I thought I had my email all set up I could receive but still not send on some accounts.

I dont know maybe it was just me.....maybe it was a defective phone...who knows I just found it the hardest smart phone to configure....maybe because its Windows!

Another thing is the bill....with my treo I was able to use a regular $20 data plan with Verizon it get substantially more expensive. The sidekick is also inexpensive compared to Verizon plans.

This is just my .02 many may have had a better experience with the Q but I sure as heck didnt.

Hmm. I used to have the Q before the sidekick 3. Since im only 17 if you use AIM a lot you want the Sidekick.

i would get the q because you can get free unlimited AIM with agile messenger and you can get 2000 text messages if u have the data plan.

I had both.

I returned the Q.

The Q is perfect hardware wise but the software destroys it for any practical use because it crashes ALOT and slows down to a crawl ALOT.

Although the sidekick3 is weaker in terms of hardware and connectivity (evdo > edge), it is much more stable in terms of software and usability.

For all intents and purposes you should probably a blackberry into consideration before deciding on either. I was going to get one but I decided to opt for an sk3 because I wanted a camera. Perhaps I'll get a blackberry when RIM launches the new blackberry w/camera.

Plus the no touchscreen on the Q? It took all my attention away from it.

if you want fast internet i would get the q because its internet is much better. plus there is an update for the q coming soon which improves the speed and fuctions of the device. and unlike the sidekick it doesnt have a closed OS

Sidekick doesnt have a closed OS the Over-The-Air updates update your sidekick.
