MPX220 w/ ASIAN ROM 3.46 ALWAYS CRASHING!! PLEASE HeLP

OK i recently got an mpx220 from cingular which had 1.43 on it by default and i upgraded properly with 3.46 and i have had nothingt but problems, it boots up all the way maybe 40% of the time and usually hangs after my custom outer lcd image shows up (while flip is open) and sometimes ill leave it alone after turning it on and come back to a blank screen and sometimes it gets my hopes up and gets all the way to displaying the time on the outer lcd but has an exclamation mark through the battery and is hung at the bootup screen....All causing me to remove the battery to try booting up again and having to reset the time

I also get alot of freezes for no apparent reason (not running anything at all). I did everything properly when customizing to english can anyone help? I also have a 1GB Ritek 150x miniSD card but havent tested booting it up without it... Im sick of this please help

ps. I see all these posts of people loving this rom, whats wrong with mine

Go back to 1.43 or sell the paper weight on ebay, that thing is WAY outdated now. AND it ALWAYS had/has problems. After XBMing mine 4 times, I complained to Cingular and they "hooked" me up with a new WM5 device.

Your battery may be dead (or dying) or it's not sitting correctly inside the phone. There have been many people who had issues with the battery not being a snug fit so they wedged something in the battery compartment with it to make the fit tighter. I'd suggest taking a movie ticket and folding it a couple of times and trying that. If you search for mpx220 battery you should be able to find the topic about getting it to fit properly. If making the fit tighter doesn't help it could be a problem with the battery itself, buy one on ebay (get a cheap knockoff, if it works you can buy a moto one later if you like) and try it out.

If neither of those helps you may want to try for a software fix. First hard reset the phone (hold down the blue button while powering it on). You will lose your data. If that doesn't help your last option is to install the rom again.

If none of those help than I'm stumped.

btw just because the mpx220 is old doesn't make it a paper weight TruBlu01. Many of us still love ours. In fact up until 7 or 8 weeks ago it was the best option for a smartphone if you insist on a flip phone. And now it's still a good choice since it costs half as much as the 8500 and isn't really lacking in features (only 2 programs I've come across insist upon wm5). Granted it's not as robust, but at half the price no one expects it to be.

I recently did the battery thing with mine. It was turning off randomly or not booting occasionally. I put it between the bottom edge of the battery and the wall of the battery "alcove". Totally did the trick. I was thinking I was going to have to dump mine and although it has it's quirks, mine is pretty tricked out exactly the way I want it. Very happy to still have it going although it is getting particular about they way the charger is inserted (stupid Moto and their dumb chargers and way of attaching).

wells its not the problem of' it turning on its more of the problem it booting up ALL the way to the home screen, heres the deal, i use tweaks2k2.net, i disabled all the SYSTEM hacks except "speed up display" and "animate menu" and i think the "fast sutdown" hack may have been causing some problems, so now from a fresh safe restart it boots up ok so far but if it freezes and i have to pull out the battery it takes me about 3 or 4 boot ups (removing the battery each time it freezes on the startup screens) to get it to the home screen. ALSO it freezes when trying to goto my bookmarks in Opera and it was freezing early trying to update the time in Tweaks2k2.net. It also freezes when in Sniper when im trying to send a file via BlueTooth and i scroll down the folder tree and once i hit the storage card folder it freezes. think it may be the minisd card? maybe i has corrupt data? there is a folder and a file with the same name which when i try to rename says it contains illegal characters and i cannot delete them either.

try a master reset and see if that works maybe your software got corrupted

power on while holding blue button :P
