Hey All!!!

So you want to get wireless internet, huh? This guide will show you how I am using my Motorola ROKR, but this also works with RAZR / E398 / V-Series [vxxx or vx], to connect wirelessly to the internet using bluetooth. First of all, there are a few things you will need:

- A Motorola ROKR / RAZR / E398 / E2 / V Series
- PC Bluetooth Capabilities (Not Internal)
(You can buy a bluetooth dongle for $12.00 on CellPhoneShop.com, this will work nicely)
- BlueSoleil software, free, available at bluesoleil.com
- A Computer
- Cingular Wireless (which you should get anyways)
- A MediaNet Package (I pay 20.00/mo for unlimited, a really good deal)
- A bit of free time

Got Everything? Good. Now the first thing you want to do is install BlueSoleil. This is relatively straight-foward and you can go click-happy on the next button without worry. Once BlueSoleil is installed, plug in your bluetooth dongle. If Windows installs it automatically, great! If not, when Windows asks for the driver, direct it to the BlueSoleil folder, and it will complete the install.

All done? Good. Now that your PC is ready, we will now configure your phone service. Before you use this service, make sure you have some sort of Media package for internet browsing. I use MediaMax, which gives 200 text messages per month PLUS unlimited internet bandwidth. I would suggest this option. It costs $20.00 a month, but it is still cheaper then most Dial-Up services and is much faster (and not to mention wireless).

Now we are ready to configure the phone itself. Go to Menu > Settings > Connection > Bluetooth Link. First, scroll down to setup. Change "Power" to "ON". Then, select "Find Me". It will say "Discoverable - 60 Seconds" or something similar. Now go to Blue Soleil on your PC. Select "My Bluetooth" from the Menu Bar, and click "Bluetooth Device Discovery". Your phone should appear on the main screen.

If you have made it this far, you've gotten past the hard part. Now, you are going to Right-Click your phone in BlueSoleil, and select "Pair Device". Your computer should give you a dialog box requesting a password. Use "0000" (zero x 4), then press enter. Next, go to your phone. It should say "Bond With XXXXX?" (where XXXXX is your computer). Select "Yes". When it asks for a passkey, enter "0000" again. You should now see a small red "check" next to the icon for your phone in BlueSoleil.

Now, Right-Click on your phone. Choose "Refresh Services". Wait until the "telephone" icon in the upper left hand corner of your screen is highlighted in yellow. Then, click that icon. A dialog box should now pop up saying "Connect Bluetooth DUN Connection". Go to the bottom where it says "Dial". It should say - *99***1# - If it does not, change it as such ( *99***1# ). For a user name, enter "user". For a password, enter... yep, you guessed it, "user". Press dial. You should see a dialog that says a number of things including "opening port", "dialing", "verifying username in password", "requesting Connection", and finally "Authenticated" followed by "Connected"

OK!!! Well now you are done!!! Please feel free to contact me if you need help with this... I would be more than willing to help!!!

For the less technically aware of us, your phone must be bluetooth-compatible. Sorry.. I left that out because i figured it was obvious...

What are the average speeds of this? Upload and Download. I am considering doing this, but I just want to know what the speeds are like before I go through the difficult setup.
