HI there,

I've seen references in the manual to the Clearvue suite being installed on the rom of the 8500?

I don't have it on my phone though. is it on a separate CD? I got my phone from Smart Mobile Gadgets. is there any way that the dealer might have striped this out?

qtek comes with a couple of cds and the software is on one of them

I'll have to check the box when I get home tonight cuz, I'm almost certain that I only got one CD.... will have to call the dealer too.

Hell, I'm trying to get mine off!!!! Can't uninstall when its preloaded.

i know on the dopod roms it seems to be part of the rom, but the qtek version is not pre-installed. have you tried a hard reset? as long as you are using a qtek rom where it was not preloaded it should be removeable. i had installed my version to the memory card but now i am using the dopod rom and it is stuck in the phone memory

anyone know why I would get the error message "cannot install on thie ROM version. please install the correct ROM and try re-installing" when I try to install from the CD?

Did you flash to a non-QTEK ROM? If so, thats why. The installers are ROM specific.

I tired the i-mate one then went back to the QTek ... is the a way to fake the ROM version in the installer? it must read the info from the registry.
