Is there a way to bypass thru a seem edit or something, the size limit that aplyes when receiving a MMS?
My e398 phone (flashed and unlocked) alowes me to set a limit of 30k or 100k. I received a MMS and i got the "Error: Message exceeds maximum download size." message. So i wonder if there's a way to disable the size limit.

there might be a seem edit to change it so no limit is an option to choose, try searching the seem edit site. www.xlr8.us/hofo

I looked .. i searched.. looked at seem map also .. nothing related to the "mms size" thinggie. Anyone had problems like i did ? and if so .. what "tweak" bypassed the receiving limit of a mms ?

i have the same problem. it sucks. there should be a way to increase it to like 150 kb or somthing. some hot girls were sending me pics and they were like 127 kb, very disapointing that i couldnt see them!

Ok, keep in mind I only have worked with modding CDMA phones, so this may or may not work on GSM...

Use PST to read the MMS Data file from your phone, see if the Max Message size value is filled in..

On the Verizon E815 and V3C, we've found it to be set as 350kbytes, but the VZW K1M its set at 300kbytes. In theory, changing this value could help, as long as the real limit isn't in the wireless carrier's network...

the wireless carrier is around 300 kb limit, for cingular and t-mobile at least. and my phone has a setting for 30kb and 100. the files i get that are too big are like 130kb. so i'll try that and see what happens. Though im sure there is a seem edit somewhere to change the value, similar to video record length.

i think the limit is in the phone software.... so it would probably have to be changed with a seem edit...

okay i have new information that people may be very interested to know. I found the seem that has the size limit! it's in seem 004e. Unfortunately im unsure of the exact location within the seem. I remembered when i first got my phone from t-mo i had no issues with file size being too large. Only after flashing it was the limit too small. So Using p2k advanced editor i searched mms size limit within certain seems and it showed it within seem 004e. The exact information it gave me for seem 004e and information on mms size limit in my phone is. Bit - 5376 Byte10 - 672 Byte16- 02A0 Decimal - 1177065000 HEX- 46289628. Now i dont know what all that means. I have a fair amount of hex editing experience, but i dont know which one is the location. And which ones are the settings. Anyways, i still had the seem 004e from my old t-mobile v360 that i modified for max video record length so i put that in my phone and checked the message size settings and a new one was now there. It gave options for 30kb 100kb and now 300kb. Now all we need to figure out is where in seem 004e do we change to get the 300 kb limit. If i knew where to look i could compare the two 004e seems and see the difference between the one with 300 and the one with 100.
