Is the Battery Life on the LG CU500 any good?

Based on 15-20 minutes of calls a per day, a few SMS,
no web browsing, and on 24-7.

How badly is the battery life affected when web browsing
on 3G/HSDPA??

I can't speak for 3g (no 3g in Colorado Springs yet), but the battery life in a 2g market is awesome. 2 nights ago, I made ~4 hours of phone calls (using my Bluetooth headset which will supposedly drain the battery even quicker), checked my email a couple of times, sent several text messages, took a few pics, played with the video recorder and played Tetris a few times. Just before I went to bed the battery meter finally dropped from 2 bars to 1 bar.

That's the best battery life of any phone I've ever owned. Granted, I'm not a phone junkie so I haven't owned nearly as many phones as some others here, but I still think that's very impressive.

As long as you use it as you describe the battery life is good. If you stream video you will be charging every night but that is to be expected. I love to sit down for lunch and watch CNN HN or Fox stream from orb. On those days I usually end up charging that night. Otherwise It is about every third night.

With the conditions you describe, I get about 3.5-4 days between full charge and full discharge; this is switching between 3g, 2g and no service ( when the BART train is underground ). I don't browse the web, but I imagine it will probably adversely affect the battery life by a couple of hours to a day.

you shouldnt let the battery reach below 15% ever its ruins the long term life

how do you figure?

So any more real-world battery life experiences.

If you browse the web or are on aim somewhat frequently in a day, plus phone calls, the battery should last you about a day.
I have yet to go a day without using aim or internet, so the battery life should be better for just phone calls.

Old wives tale...no longer an issue with today's modern batteries. I believe that was the case to NiCAD batteries. There is no memory loss in Li-ION batteries.
