If you press the button on the headset, does it connect right back up?
If a call comes in, does the headset connect back up?

If so, then that is normal.

If the headset doesn't connect back up by pressing the button on the headset, then that is a definate problem. But it sounds like yours is ok.

Apparently they do that soft-disconnect as a battery/power saving thing.
My headsets usually connect back up if a call comes in, or if I press the keys on the phone (or if I press the button on the headset, of course).
I usually shut my headsets off in between calls, so I'm not 100% sure if they'd always reconnect with an incoming call (or if I'd have to press the button on the headset). I think it depends on the model headset - some of them will connect back up by themselves (especially a Moto headset used with a Moto phone), and some you might have to press the button.

One of the reasons I turn mine off inbetween calls is because I get sick of hearing the connect/disconnect beeps all the time.
