Possible way to turn off shutter sound?

I've noticed that when I've got my gd87 plugged in to my laptop with the usb data cable and it is charging via the mobile action software - then ALL sound is cancelled on the phone. Cannot listen to ringtones/game sounds - nothing. This must be some sort of short on the contacts that does this. Therefore it might be possible to make a little device that you can plug in which would allow you to turn off the shutter sound when on the move.

Someone work out which contacts need to be connected cos I don't want to ruin my phone by trial and error!

There are at least 3 different software releases that I have seen posted here
A16, A19 and A21. I think it is a bug related to the A16 release. You can ask for who has this problem and what software release that they have.

I've got A19.

All sounds are cancelled only when charging via usb not the standard power adaptor that comes with the phone.

A16 and mine does it on the AC and DC chargers. HMMM, I have a 700 Ma AC and DC charger. I wonder if it has anything to do with the amount of current the phone is charging with? Does anyone know how much current the USB port can source?

Bit variable depending on MB but spec limits are suppose to be 500ma (USB1) not sure if standards are amended for USB2

usb2 is the same power output as usb1.0/1.1

Standard charger is 400mA I believe. Maybe I will hook it up to a PS at work and play around some, when I get back to the office on Monday.

I got mine out of HK. I bought 10. I sold most on Ebay, although I do have a few extra I will sell for $10 +shipping USD. PM me if interested

I do not mean to confuse anyone. The cables that I have are for charging only, there is no data transfer capability.

You got it. That seems the latest software version available at the moment in Europe. Does anyone know of anywhere where this upgrade is available?
