How can I delete the "my number" display on an E815?

I am selling my Verizon E815, and want to clear out the "my number" screen when it starts up. I've done the master clear, and master reset, but its still there.

Quickly press:

74663#[menu][menu]

Select NAM1

Clear out the MIN and MDN entries and replace with all zeros.

How can I hide the 'my number' without using a banner? I want my phone to function as now, but not show the reminder either.

is this the way to get rid of it if your just getting rid of your phone or will the phone still work right?

No. The instructions in post #2 will make your phone non-functional (until it is reprogrammed). Only use those instructions if you are selling it and don't want the programming for your cell number left in the phone.
