Computer independent BT PAN for M600i

I would like to set up a bluetooth PAN for my M600i without my computer being involved. My gf so loves to turn it off.
So how do I do this? I was thinking I should be able to get a BT accesspoint and connect that to my LAN. I have only found one though, and that is the D-Link DBT-900AP, which is BT1.1. The M600i is BT2.0. Would it still work? I´m not familiar with compatability between BT versions.
