Creating Ringtones for Motorola E815

I looked through the guides, and I didn't find this solution. I might be wrong, but i thought I would share my solution.

I saw posts about creating a sort of dumby tone by emailing it to a dumby email address. Then, using BitPim, editing that. For whatever reason, that didn't work for me. However, I did find a way around it without using BitPim or a data cable.

First, you do need a transflash card. Create the ringtone however you want. I used the mobile tools that same with my data cable. Make sure it is only about 30 seconds long, the file size does need to be pretty small. I found around 200kb is the max. Save that file to your transflash card.

Second, create a pix message, and send it to a dumby number. I just used 999-9999. Insert the file from the transflash card to the pix message and send it. It will say unable to send, just like the BitPim method.

Third, open your outbox, select the message you sent, and save the file. It will actually ask if you want to make it your ringtone. You can also save the file to your phone.

Presto, you have a new ringtone. No data cable required. Like I said, it might have been posted before, but I couldn't find it. Enjoy.
