Got a 256mb transflash card with a SD adapter. formatted the transflash card in the phone just fine, put MP3's on it just fine and the phone reads it when i put the card in. when i go to start up the mp3 player to play the music off the phone it just reboots my phone? did i do something wrong or does a setting need to be set? please let me know anything about this issue if you can. thanks

I Dont Think So... Kx5's Always Do That When U Put Wrong Format Songs In It Or Some Songs That U Download Are Messed Up Or Something....when Mine Would Do That I Would Just Take Off The Last Song I Put In Then It Would Work Fine..

no if u put in the wrong format, or if the song is corrupted or the name is too long.....it just doesn't show up

i see thank you for the fast posting. is there a "best" bitrate to use? or maybe use wma's more? or is there maybe a program that reencodes the mp3 or something like that?

So sorry don't mean to be so needy... also wondering when moving a video file that was made from the phone, where does it move the file to? i was figuring to the memory card but the file is not on it. and i'm tryin to set an mp3 song as my default ringer and don't have enough memory space in the onboard phone memory. andi can't figure what setting to go into to find the files.

u dont have to convert anything to wma......the phone will play mp3s for ringers and music. You just have to make small snippets for ringtones and leave the entire songs for music

when you record video with the phone. It saves that in the video album. that is where you will find video recorded with the phone

it would be a good idea to get a bigger memory card because you will want to have fun with this phone

and for the last question

when making a default ringer- u must go to where the ringer u want to use and go up to tools, folder options, file types, then uncheck hide ext
after that
go the to the ringer and name it....... whateveruwant.mid (not it is a mp3, but you have named it something that the phone can see and play for the default)
make sure uncheck the hide extensions so u can rename it properly

thank you so much on the info on the ringer situation. but i don't see where the files are put when you select Move File in the options, in the video folder. and after moving the video files, my phone seem to use up all of its onboard memory (16mb)? if any explanation on that thanks greatly again.

and it sounds like you guys are explaining the help with what sounds like to me using the usb cable, and i unfortunately don't have one of those just the transflash card with a sd adpater. if that could help to explain maybe another option or way to do it sweet. if not, i need to get an usb cable for it then and refer back to here. and again to the people who replied back Thank You greatly!

if ur computer has the memory card reader it will work like that too

or bluetooth

but I have the USB cable, it came with the phone

I also had this problem and took off the last song I put on and it stopped rebooting. If I had to guess what happen is that the title of the song was to long or had some charaters in it that formed a string of information telling the phone to reboot. Any time you turn of the mp3 player it goes to read the contnets of sandisk.

You can get the KX5 to store videos, photos, voice memos, etc. on the card itself. It's in the phone's settings. I don't remember where that menu is though. Check the manual.

Go to Settings, then Memory Card, then Items to Save. You can check the items that you would like saved to the memory card rather than the onboard memory (camera pictures, video album, voice memos, etc.).

I have a 2MB in my KX5 , have had no trouble loading mp3's using the adaptor and my pc / laptop ,. Occaisionally have trouble loading using mobile phone tools software . Unfortunately , If I load more than 500 MB on the Transflash card , the phone will not access the card , then shuts down / restarts .The phone says it has read the card and it is ready to use , but the phone shuts down as soon as I try to access the card . If I remove MP3's to get under 500 MB it works ok . Frustrating .

Solution :
I read this thread , and found I that an mp3 I was trying to load was the problem . It transferred using the transflash card in the puter , but if i tried to load the mp3 using mobile phone tools it rejected the transfer .Removed the mp3 via the puter ( deleted it ) , and all is good . Now got 800MB of MP3's and still going strong !
Thanks all , these are a great phone .
