So, i know when u seem edit it, and turn on the option for continuous, then select it (CDMA verizon phones) the phone goes all screwy, i have a thread about that a while back, HOWEVER.... i left the "continuous" option enabled via seem edits, and never checked it (put it on 20 seconds or 60, cant remember)

This resulted in the backlight going off after 60 seconds or so, bla bla bla u know the drill

A few days ago, i started using the VZ navigator (cross country trip) we just got back, and today my phone is sitting here, and ive noticed that, if i open it.... It will turn off after the alotted time (go black) however when the phone is closed, the external LCD screen is ALWAYS on, i can read the time, date, carrier name, ect (it dims out after the alotted time, but stays lit)

I can only assume that the VZ program somehow enables the continuous mode inadvertantly after the option is enabled via a seem edit without "breaking" it, like manually checking continuous will do on verizon phones when enabling continuous....

I dunno, ill leave it to u experts to check out, but im just impressed (and happy) that the external LCD is on ALL the time now, verses 60 seconds max........

Also, when using the vz navigator, the phone seemed to have a max battery life of 8 hours with the INternal LCD on (from a full charge)

However for the return trip, using the external LCD the battery only dropped 1 bar right at the end of the 8 hour trip, leading me to believe the external lcd being on all the time wont drastically effect battery life...

Is the internal light on as well? It was my understanding that both the internal and external ran from the same light.

while I'm on the topic, Is there a way to force the phone to not go into bright mode? Keep all the other features the same, power off after 20 sec, etc. Just skip the bright and go straight to dim mode.
