I cant even fathom what I could do with a 2 gig card..haha I mean were almost talking full movies and like 1000 songs.. Thats out of control.. Im still runnin on the stock card right now but I will be getting the gig card in like a month or less...

Posted by: cannibust

if u get the imtoo 3gp vid converter, you can fit up to 5 full movies on a 512 card...it works great on mine. just dl the trial version and search around a bit and you may find a crack for it.

Posted by: baker11

ive got about a 130 songs on my 1 gig right now and 500mb left but the reason that many songs is takin up so much space is because the bit rate on all of them is 128 and i havent had the chance to make them all smaller....

Posted by: crackur

yeah when I got my fone, I just got a 512 not knowing there was a 1gb but I dont use my phone for a mp3 player only got like 7 songs on there just to chill to when I'm severly bored.....its mainly full of wallpapers, ringtones and screen savers and pictures.......and I've only used like 40mbs LOL

its all good.......I have all teh software to make things smaller or movies of anyform to put on there but thats ight

I have a mp3 player and portable dvd player........dont need it on my phone haha, too small of a viewing

Posted by: amgdoc

I have the 1 GB and plenty of room still left. Still, 2 GB is amazing for that size.

Posted by: drewc4

I wish I would of waited I just bought a 1gig for my slider I did get it cheaper a best buy than the 512mb they were selling. I was at Us cellular's retail store and for a 128mb I think they wanted 50 dollars for.

Posted by: collinhead

can you can really play movies on this thing?? they actually play on the screen and everything? We are still talking about the kx5, right?

and its confirmed that it will support more than a 512? the sandisk site said my phone will only do 128, lol.. :P but cricket told me it will only do 512. well sweet. i want the 2 gig, that is so awesome.

Yes, you can play ENTIRE movies on this thing. And yes, they actually play on the screen and everything. My buddy has the entire Final Fantasy Advent Children anime movie on his Slider Remix (KX5).

Google the Nokia Multimedia Converter 2.0.

I may get a 2 gig card just for the sake of it, but still, I have yet to even begin to fill my 512 Meg, and I have the entire first season of The Boondocks and at least 30 songs in my playlist, along with photos and videos.

This phone is pretty cool but it has no foward or rewind for watching video. So If someone calls when you're almost done with your 2hr movie you can't foward to that point you have to watch from the begining. Unless I've missed something. I would like to know if their is a fix for this.

Posted by: collinhead

I noticed this too, there is none on the KX5 that I have found either. Is there like an update in firmware or something, I don't know.. The best fix I guess would be to just split the movie into 15 minute increments instead of the whole 2 hours or something, but that still sucks. There must be some way though. Oh yes, I just bought a 1 GB card for my phone. . . Rocks. Thanks for the info about the nokia multimedia deal.

why dont u put the phone in airplane mode or atleast on hold until u finish watching movies on that lil bitty screen

I thought about that and figure that would be the only time I would try to watch a whole movie on such a small screen is it I were stuck on an airplane. But I do believe it's pretty stupid to allow video playback and not have thes functions.

Its fun to watch movies you took and short music videos but I dont know how it would be to watch full movies and that...

Well you just have to think the phone is made mainly for the videos that you can capture which is only 15 secs unless you QPST it, and they figure that you wouldn't need to rewind through 15 seconds.....

So is there anyone that has got the 2gb and made sure that it will work?

Posted by: quickie_xtr

i got a 2 gig card for my remix but the phone only read 1 gig. im guessing thats the max but i dunno. also i have a copy of kyocera phone tools, and bitpit, and tried using both to add ringtones to my phone with no success. the closes i got was when i tried to assign as default ringer it says " Attention!! file cannot be assigned. but when i assign it as a contact ringer, it works.

why can i assign it as a contact ringer, but not the default ringer? anyone know?

i have a memory card and cable to transfer files

also, if u need any of the above tools, let me know

Posted by: SurfBum96818

I was just checking in here to see if anyone knew how to unlock the bluetooth capabilities of kyocera phones or if that is a hopless cause !

BUT I did see that some one is trying to get songs to play as default ring tones.
What I do is I use an editing tool to cut my songs down to about a minute ( I don't think you HAVE to ) THEN I open it in WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER click on SAVE AS and change the .mp3 to .mid then shoot it to the phone in file manager MP3s will play BUT only MIDI files can be ring tones so changing the file in save as worked
HOPE that wasn't too simplified an answer!

Posted by: quickie_xtr

first of all. Any ringtone for any phone should be 30 seconds or less because most phones ring for 30 seconds or less (then goto voicemail or another automated message.) Secondly, SAVING an mp3 as a mid lowers the quality of the music you want as a ringtone. simply RENAME it as mentioned before (no need for converting either). if your gonna do it, do it right

Ok everybody to help you a little. the best ways to transfer files with the card is to set it up to open to use usb through settings, that way when you plug your phone in it bring the directory up for the card. another is to get a microsd read or a sd reader if you have a sd adapter. If you don't have cables or a reader then you can call your service provider and ask then your mms address, the address for us cellular is phonenumber@mms.uscc.net, then you can send the ringtones or wallpapers as attachments and send them through the email. well hope this helps

Unless you don't have picture messaging... Wife and I didn't wanna pay extra for it. It comes in as a text message, says something like "so and so sent you a picture, go to our web site in the next week and enter this code to view it". My brother sent me a video and it did the same thing. So I guess a song would, too.

Best way is to get a memory card reader. If you know a few things about computers you can put an internal one in. The Corsair memory cards Newegg has ($15/512MB, $30/1GB, $80/2GB I think) come with adapters. Best Buy, Walmart, and especially cell phone places charge 2, 3, 4 times that or even more for memory cards, but real geeks know the deal. Anyway, you can also get external readers (via USB) so that's probably fine, too. Check your printer - they're starting to include memory card readers on printers.

What is up with the memory on the slider remix. I have a 1 g card but I can only put like 5 ring tones on the phone itself can't save any pictures or anything cause it tells me that I am out of memory.. Can anyone help me

Posted by: medicraerae

I just don't understand why it is doing this...

Posted by: //Nathan

Well... From the main screen hit Menu, go to Settings, Memory Card, click Items to Save and make sure they're all checked.

Then you should be loading ringtones, wallpapers, videos and such on the memory card, not the phone itself. The phone itself has 16MB, which isn't much, but for a phone it's a lot. Applications in EasyEdge can take up a lot of space. Do you have a lot of videos? While you're looking at an unprotected (i.e. you made it or put it there) file, if there's a memory card icon in the upper right of the screen, it's on your card. If not, it's on your phone. Hit the right-shoulder button (Options) and choose Move File to put it on your card.

Get it set up right and you should have plenty of space. I do and all's I got is a 512MB card.
