I upgraded from a treo 600 to 700p and noticed verichat unabled to be configured to be always on. once the screen turns off, I'm immediately disconnected. when I was on the treo 600, it would remain connected until I sign off. anyone experiencing the same problem?

Bumping your own post is generally frowned upon :-)

But I believe you have some options/preferences in Verichat regarding always-on features. Have you explored those? How about your power preferences?

i wonder if this has anything to do with verichat on 700p or verichat... anyone know? ive upgraded from a 600 to a 700p, and synced from my desktop..

I've got a 650 and I don't have this problem that I know of; it might depend on your settings. You should be able to choose between data mode and SMS mode for your always-on setting. Data mode should keep a dormant data connection after your screen turns off. I don't particularly like that mode because half the time, it's next to useless in my experience. It keeps me signed on but I don't receive any IMs when I'm sent them. If I open Verichat and try to message someone, then all the messages people have previously sent come in all at the same time -- but by then the people have already left. That might be my provider's problem instead of the phone; I'm not sure. I generally keep mine in SMS mode because I have free incoming text messages; that way my connection can be dropped but I will still receive messages.

Either way, one of these two options must be selected in order for Verichat to remain connected after your screen shuts off. If you have one selected but your connection is still being dropped, I would recommend that you reinstall Verichat. Again, I have a 650, not a 700p, so there is a chance that the 700p acts differently.

Verichat does not work with the 700p in always on mode. There is a "hack" that makes Verichat 700p compatible though. Do a search on google for "Verichat hack" and you'll find it.
