Should I do this to my phone and how?

(sorry repost from Nokia Modding section...more traffic here! please excuse...)

I plan to do a crossover between two 7210 covers to create the old-school look of the 8210/90 with the central bit being black instead of the same color as the rest of the faceplate (see pic). I'll probably use OEM black and turquoise...this way the phone has a custom faceplate and remains (hopefully) OEM quality.

anyways...what does everyone think...
and any suggestions on removing the central plastic bit with minimal damage?
