Help with VX8300 programming

I just purchased a VX8300 and like a knew what I was doing, I tried transfering some files like pictures, ringtones, and even games from my VX8100 to my new VX8300 through Bitpim so that I wouldn't have to pay for them again. Well to make a long story short now I'm screwed. Lost some important files now a lot of functions won't work and the transfer of the games didn't work either. I was wondering if anyone had the 8300 and would want to backup their system files minus the personal info of course so that I could restore it to my phone in hopes of getting it restored to it's original state. Verizon does not have the flash software or calbe to do this the smart way as of yet. You can just refer to me as Moron if you'd like!!

Okay, I just got off the phone with Verizon and also LG electronics. I found out that there is a way for me to manually reset the phone myself but the Verizon lady said it wouldn't work and therefore didn't inform me on how to do it and the LG lady didn't have the specs in order to tell me.

Any help
Thanks again
Moron

Yup, that's your best bet. Part 2 of my tutorial should fix ya right up.

Good luck, Moron. J/k

When you're done, don't bother trying to upload the games from your 8100, they won't work. Brew apps are tied to the phone they were installed on. Pictures and ringers will work, just make sure you put them in the proper directories on the 8300. Read the tutorials for the 8300, it will give you a good understanding of what you can do with your phone and how to do it.

Yeh I found out you gotta make sure you click on add ringtones or add wallpaper, if you go to replace and send it to phone it will replace everything in that sucker, well duh thats what replace means.. anyway its a simple mistake but very easy to do if your not looking closely

I just add ringers and pics directly to the phone through the filesystem. No need for all that get data, add stuff, send data crap.
