easy solution? don't store 9,000 contacts on your phone. if you need that many contacts, i suggest you buy a laptop. theres no reason to keep your corporate address book on your cell phone. |
Do you even know what an 8125 is? I see your using a V635. whoa high end Phone with "With up to 5 megabytes (MB) of end user internal memory you have substantial room for downloading and stockpiling applications, games, videos, photos and MP3 files. And thanks to removable memory cards for up to 256 MB of extra storage, you can view, groove and play without maxing out your mobile’s memory." (got that from Motorola's website for the V635

outlook is a made for laptops and pc's. not cell phones. the same example is word and excell. you can not do the same things in excel or word that you can on a laptop. when cell phones can hold more than 9,000 contacts like an exchange program, the will be able to do a lot more than just make phone calls and store your calendar. as said above, this is nothing but someone trying to impress other people. there is no reason for 9,000 contacts in a cell phone. |
You didnt look hard enough. This time google Pocket Outlook.

It seems that the Blackberry he used could hold all 9,000+ contacts. With Blackberry he could choose just the name and phone number and not the address to be loaded on the handheld. Maybe that is why the BB with only 64mb memory could hold all of them. Is it possible in Activesync and Outlook 2003 to only sync just the names and phone numbers and not the address? Any ideas or workarounds would be helpful. ![]() |

To you it may be silly, but to the person that is requesting this help it could be important. Who are you to say it's dumb? Why would anybody want to carry around a laptop when you can have all the same information and access in a PDA? And it makes more logical sense to store them in your PDA since you are connected to your corporate e-mail via your PDA, you place/receive calls via your PDA, you are on the go and everything you need is accessible via your PDA rather then strapping a laptop to your back or in your breifcase... while 9,000 contacts is on the extreme side, it's not a dumb question. Come on man, have a little more sense than that. |
