Does Lockline offer insurance for the Samsung D807?

I was told by a friend that he can't insure the D807? Is this true? How can they refuse to insure a mid-tier phone? If so, this is just one more evidence that phone insurance is nothing but an obscene but legal ripoff!

the w600i and s710 were covered, and the replacement unit was a d807. strange indeed. however, the d807 is not covered by lockline at this time. thus if those persons change their imei to reflect the phones that were sent out they would no longer be covered.

remember when the Razr 1st came out it was not insurable either. While I agree insurance is a ripoff on the big dollar phone I do recommend you got it.

i myself dropped the insurance racket a long time ago.
i have an AT&T universal credit card. some of the customer benefits include free cellphone insurance as well as free calling minutes. i think it is about 60 free minutes a month.
fortunately, i haven't had the chance to test out the insurance plan they offer. but i will look into it further to see what they actually cover.

If Lockline told you otherwise, they were wrong. Simply go to Cingular.com and check the eligible phones.
