I've been using bitpim for a couple of years without any problem. Now I get a new phone under warranty and load the ringtone that are on the minisd card with no problem. Then I tried to add a few more going through the steps which are added. The problem occurs when I shut off the phone. The ringtones appear on the menu on the phone but will not play. I can add them again and they still only work until the phone is shut off again.

there is hack for this problem over in the verizon/lg forum
the problem is when you turn off the phone it drops the pointer in the system memory that points to the file on the sd card
A: so either you copy the ringers into the phone memory so the phone remembers where they are,
B: you don't turn the phone off
c: you do the file hack, this is a custom hack and will have to be changed, if you add or remove ringers from the card
my personal opinion is to but ringers and wallpaper on the phone
an use the card for the camera and music files
how many different ringers do you need ?
you can always delete them and replace them with something else if you want to change them
becareful you don't but in more than what the phone can handle
besure you backup the file system on the phone before you do too much
this phone is easy to screwup, the memory is pre-allocated, the phone only allows so much memory for ringers or pix, or flix , or music
if you put in too many files 'of any type' it overlflows memory space and screws up some other function of the phone, put to much in my_flix and you might get a phone that wont boot all the way on, but keeps cycling part way up and shutting down then starts over, and you have to pull the battery
put in to many wallpapers and get one the phone might freze up when you try to choose a paper
these problems have been posted here on howards

Use the most recent version of bitpim. It fixes this problem.
