How hard is cingular on the background check? I applied, interviewed and did the test(pee test), everything is dandy but I am waiting on my background test. In 2003 I was arrested for DUI but fought it in court and had it reduced to wreckless driving. Its been 3 yrs so that should be off there. But even if it was still on there how tuff are they on there background test? And will that prevent me from getting the job.

They are mainly looking for theft and whether or not you lied on an application. Traffic violations don't count against you.

That makes me feel a little bit better. Anyone else have a DUI'Y that is hired by Cingular? Thank God mine was reduced, but still I don't want to be overlooked cause of this.

Our former RAE got a DUI while a sales rep then promoted to RAE.

I think you'll be fine.

I also was wandering about the background check. I was charge for shoplifting when I was 14 or 15. I have a very clean record and I am now 20 just wondering if that would bar me from employment because I am just trying to getr the job to get ahead in life. Please respond with any answers. Also how far do they go back on your check and do they check juvenile records. Thanks in advance.

Juvenile records are not accessible once you turn 18(except by police and Federal agents) for background checks. They should have told you that when you were arrested... they did for me

Of course.. that may very state by state, but it didn't prevent me from getting a job with Cingy.

good luck.
