8125 battery problems

as of late the battery on my 8125 has been draining rediculously fast.

i plugged it in to charge about 8pm one night and grabbed it to go to school about 7am and about 10am it said it was at 50% battery life already.

i woke up this morning (less than a day from charging it again) and it was absolutely dead. i plugged it in, let it boot.. ran to the gas station, came back and it charged up to 10%.

anyone have problems like this, or is there any kind of warranty to where i can take it back into the store and either get a new one or an exchange?

i'm thinking of going back to my blackberry 8700c (i don't have one but i'd buy one if there's no solution to this problem).

I have had mine for about 3 months and no signs of trouble with the battery. Most Batteries these days last about 1 year to 18 months and the signs you describe sounds like a battery starting to die.
Give Cingular a call and see what they can do.

i've had mine about a week after they've been released. i'm actually getting tired of this phone. i will try to answer a call and it'll hang up on them.. sometimes i'll get absolutely no signal in a highly populated area and require to reboot my phone just to get a signal. phone is just acting sluggish. i was happy with the phone at first and then after a while i just get tired of it. i get tired of dialing on the touch screen.

if anyone could hook me up with a place that sells blackberry 8700c without contracts for a good price, tell me. thats what i had before i had this phone and never had a problem with it. no ebay auctions either.

with some moderate gprs/edge surfing, I'm lucky if I get 12 hours out of my 8125 battery

My battery lasts pretty long, except for when I use it to listen to music. WMP seams to drain it pretty fast, so I also use GS Player and that seams to help me conserve power.

I also keep the screen pretty dim and that works the best. I have had this phone since April and never had a problem.

Try www.craigslist.com this is Ebay's rival but without the fees. I saw some good sales on there. Unlike Ebay where your purchases are almost strickly by the mail, here you meet the person for the exchange. No scam, no waiting.

You can sell me your 8125 cheap perhaps

As for the guy with the phone problem, call Cingular up if it is less than a year old....They will hook you up with a neew one with no question asked...... Well they will ask you if you drop it in the water .

I use my 8125 for other features aside from just a phone (GPS, MP3, MPEG, JPG, remote control....on and on....). So in that sense it is a great device....... everything in one box.

which battery are you using?
and how do you use your unit?
if you leave wifi on, it kills battery like crazy
also, be aware of async as it can be battery killer (check MDA forum and aximsite.com)

have you always left you phone charging for extended periods of time (overnight) even when the battery was not totally drained? seems as though you may have started early on over-charging your batt. or does anyone know if our phones have protection against this? I know my HP camera has protection against charging a fully-charged battery in its firmware.

For sluggish phone it could be a few issues.
The easiest was to fix that is to upgrade the ROM. If your on the older 1.X you might want to get the 2.X
It is much faster.

Also programs installed will greatly effect your battery life and performance.
What do you have?

With moderate to heavy usage using wifi to surf the net with IE and instant messaging, I get about 8-10 hours on the battery. I think the battery is great if you just use it as a phone. I'm using 2.25 ROM.

What I like is it uses hardly any battery power in standy mode.
