Here are some pics of my modified N80. I like changing the looks of my cell phones. I've gold and black chrome plated lots of 8800's. N80 looked a little too plain but with little modification it looks gorgeous. It deffinately looks better in life than in pictures I provided. What I did is I polished the pearl coating of the middle plate and got a piano black color underneath. I didn't know it was going to be that difficult. For a moment I thought I ruined my phone but I proceeded, and what I got is one of a kind Nokia N80.

yeah, just looks like a black N80, can't really see anything polished on it. Maybe some macro pics would show it better in high res

kloquewerk notice the difference between the battery cover and the middle frame. You can clearly see the color difference between pearl black and jet black. Yes, the photos don't show much of the shine but the color difference is clearly visible.

you're right, i see that part. I know the pics don't do it justice though. looks good either way. how did you polish it?

Polishing was quite a challenge. I knew that glittery black that you see is a surface coating. I have a dummy phone, and I experimented with that one first. I used polishing wheels of different consistencies, plus some sand paper. I didn't take the phone appart to complete the task. I masked the other surfaces.

Fraud!No offence buddy.its just that i did the same with my piece of sweet love just by switching the battery cover with an aftermarket one.its purple not jet black.like i said,no offence,just posting my views.

i think a red N80 would look really cool. someone bring out the paint
