Hello,

I just purchased a v710 alltel phone, but my service is Verizon. I have already done an esn change so my phone is getting service from verizon, BUT is there a way to change the phone software to Verizon as well? (so external display says Verizon, not alltel and verizon store can update if needed) I went to the verizon store to get the update, but there system could not update the phone. Is it even possible? If so, can someone point me in the right direction. The more detail on how to do this the better considering I really don't know what I am doing when it comes to this stuff. Step by Step directions would be the best...if you could be so kind.

I do not want to hack my phone... just make it like an original verizon phone...

Hacking is unavoidable.
I'm not sure if you'll be able to flash it to a Verizon firmware - you might want to leave the Alltel firmware on there (don't flash to a Verizon V710 firmware) and see if you can get everything working to your satisfaction).
But you can try following the V3c Alltel on Verizon wiki to get everything working on the V710 with the Alltel firmware (just use this as a guide - following the info on getting all the Verizon data functions working):
