I read in one of your guides when modding a W800 there is a bluetooth connector, and if missing bluetooth failed to work.

Is this the same with my W810i - I replaced the complete housing and since I cannot connect bluetooth to devices more than 6" away, and when connected cannot transfer sound (i.e. headset) or files?

Did you read a guide before replacing the W810i housing? Basically there an an antenna at the back, that shouldn't be messed with, maybe it's been dislocated.

I did read the article, however this referred to a w800 (I was replacing a W810i cover with a 3rd party W810i cover. Cellular signal is fine so I assume the antenna is fine, or are you referring to a different antenna specifically for bluetooth?

You might want to look closer. I had the same problem, but when I looked very carefully, I found a tiny copper metal bar right above the hole for the camera shutter button. It did not look like an antenna, but it is.

@deepscratch - that's the "u" shaped one on the inside of the chassis with the
contacts facing up towards where the pcb would be ? I, too, didn't think that was
an antenna, but something to do with the camera button !!!

Cheers for that :-)
